Flute on "Blue Ravel" Piano Trio
Williams began playing clarinet at the age of 9 and continued to
play throughout grammar school and at Pearl High School in
Nashville. He went on to study at Tennessee State University in
Nashville. After college, he spent four years playing with
the NORAD Air
Force band. In his early 20s, he began playing saxophone, and at
26 began performing live dates.
Williams states, “The R&B scene was very strong here in
Nashville in the early ‘70s, and I played a lot of shows. I also
got lucky and played on a lot of sessions in the late ‘70s.” |
